Remote Desktop Locks Up Whe Minimized (XP)

I have a challenge when the RDP is minimized on the toolbar it sometimes locks and freezes up. I am unable to restore or maximize the view by right clicking on it.

If I open up the task manager I can see the process still running; clicking on the process restores the view to it's maximized state but there is no response in keyboard or mouse. The only alternative that I have is ending the process and logging back in.

    Any ideas as to why?

    Thanks,
    John

Are you running Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Services Client 6.0)? Is XP up-to-date with patches?

Make sure you're up to date as per Joe's reply.

I sometimes experience similar "dropouts", even when not minimised. So far, I've always been able to kill the hung process and reconnect to my (in progress) session.

I haven't identified a specific cause, but have a few suspects. Apart from just plain broken connections (wireless), periods of inactivity seem to be common denominator, possibly involving screensavers and/or power saving options.
