Macro generated list of styles (MS Word 2003, SP2)

    Hello,

I am looking to create a macro that will point to a folder full of .RTF files or .DOC files, collect all the styles from each document; and then output a list
containing all the MS Word styles found.

    Is this possible to do?

    Thanks,

    Jim

Do you want to create a single list containing all styles, or a separate list for each document?

    Hello Hans,

I just need a single list of all the styles in each document. I am using Microsoft Office Word 2003 SP3.
    Thanks,
    Jim

The attached text file contains a macro ListStyles and an auxiliary procedure AddStyles. You should modify the path in the constant at the beginning of the code.

The macro will create a new document and fill it with a list of styles. It's slow, so give it a bit of time. The document being processed is displayed in Word's status bar.
