    Control Panel

<img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15> Is there a way to move directly from one favorite forum to the next one as listed in the control panel?

Have you tried the Jump box in the lower area of each screen.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Yes, but I am much lazier than that. I'd rather not have to locate the next "favorite" from a list.

    Re: Control Panel

I tried this when the Control Panel first came into use but found the Read Flags got messed up, so I abandoned that course.

I currently use the *Jump to* box but find I am visiting threads that don't contain any unread msgs. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15> I'm happy to live with the status quo.

However, I also would like to *go back* to the Control Panel's Favourites List, but don't want to add to Eileen's work load.

    Just my <img src=/S/2cents.gif border=0 alt=2cents width=15 height=15> worth.

    Re: Control Panel

    Hi Leif
Another good one. I've found it stops me accidentally killing the page and thereby inadvertently exiting the lounge. As for the red read thingies, I just remember which ones have yet to be read. They are, after all, dated and timed.

I have an idea I'm working on about this. I'll get something going if it works...

..and if it won't co-operate, just wart it and be done.

    Re: Control Panel

I find I do not have a problem with the read markers as long as I have not closed an initial page.
If you enter a forum, do not read all the unread posts and exit the forum, I find I can return to it 'unscathed'.
It appears quitting the Lounge completely (and with all windows) is what kills the 'memory'.

I wonder how many people do actually use the CP as an entry point? I don't - straight in and try and make sure I read all the mail in a particular forum.

    Re: Control Panel

I do, and, I have the Control Panel set as my IE home page.

When I am finished with one forum I just click HOME and then click the next forum with unread messages.

    Re: Control Panel

People can already get back to their Favorites List by clicking either "Controls" in the MenuBar at the top of every page or on the <IMG SRC=http://www.wopr.com/w3timages/favorites.gif alt="Favorites"> icon in the FooterBar at the bottom. Would it help if I put this <IMG SRC=http://www.wopr.com/w3timages/favorites.gif alt="Favorites"> icon right next to the <IMG SRC=http://www.wopr.com/w3timages/all.gif alt="Main Index"> icon?

Learn something every day. Need to RTFM again.

It probably would help. I never noticed it before. I will still however leave the lounge as my home page. It is the most likely first place I go when I start IE.

    Re: Control Panel

That might help, Mummy. I just click on Controls to get back to the panel because those teensy links at the bottom of the screen always escape my notice.

    Re: Control Panel

On a related note. When I arrive at the lounge particularly on a Monday morning, there may be 50 or 60 new posts in a given forum. As I read through, I may find a post 30 down where I post a reply. Once posted, I'm returned to the top of the forum and need to relocate my last position. I'd prefer to simply continue on reading through the forum after posting. It's a minor annoyance, but is there a simple solution I'm missing?
