    Marking Tables of Authorities (2007)

Can anyone tell me how Word handles the "Id" in legal citations for marking Tables of Authorities? How do you tell Word which long citation Id is associated with?

I hardly every use the T of A feature, but this is what I have done in the past. When you mark a full citation, create a short name for it (called a short citation, but which is not displayed in the document so it need not be fancy). When you get to Id., which "Next Citation" should find, you can choose the short citation from a list to associate it with the case.
