    password protect messages (2003)

How do I send messages that require the receipient to enter a code before it can be opened?
    Thanks.

I do not know if this meets your exact needs, but native Outlook can encrypt the message and attachments IF you have a digital encyption certificate. In the message compose window, click the "Options" button, and then "Security Settings". If you don't have a digital certificate, you'll need to obtain one as the window will instruct you -after- you attempt to send the message.

Otherwise you may need to use third party encryption tools, such as PGP for Mail, or send your message and attachments as a password-protected encrypted file.

You also could use an encrypted attachment in a common format (e.g., PDF, ZIP, DOC). This might be easier than trying to encrypt the message body, but it does require an extra step to access the content.
