    Insert Pictures (Outlook 2002)

    Hi,
Using Outlook 2002 and HTML, I use the insert Picture command which bed's the picture to the body of my email. But upon receipt of the email, the pictures change to files that need to be opened. I have checked my settings but cannot find where I am going wrong?
    Thanks

What format is the e-mail when you compose and send it? HTML, I presume?

And what format is it when it is received? HTML, RTF or Plain Text?

It's sent in HTML, and I think it's received in HTML also.

    Re: Insert Pictures (Outlook 2002)

I sent an email home from work today (using outlook xxxx?) that contained a picture. The title bar (when opening the email) reads Untitled - Message (HTML). The picture displays in the body of the text as expected.

I then saved the picture to my computer, composed a new email in HTML, inserted the picture and sent to myself. The title bar of the opened email upon receipt also reads Untitled - Message (HTML), though the picture displays as a file. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20> My 'sent item's' also show as file attachments.

Thanks for checking. In that case, I don't know what causes it. Hopefully someone else can help.

    Re: Insert Pictures (Outlook 2002)

I am presuming that it is something to do with the sending profile from outlook on my home pc, as it works ok sending from my work pc. I have searched through tools > options but can see no reason for this.

    Thanks for looking Hans.

Some security programs scan email both on the way in and on the way out. Is it possible that your security software is intentionally or inadvertently "breaking" the code to display the attachment inline with the text (technically, it's still an attachment)?
