Auto complete cell using dropdown (2003)

I am trying to work out how to auto complete a field with site ID such as ZAIBP9JG4 when the Site name is selected in the dropdown , is this possible?

    See screenshot.

    Any help would be appreciated.

If you had a list of site names and site IDs (perhaps in a different sheet) you could use a VLOOKUP formula in the cell to fill it in...

I am not familiar with using vlookup using a dropdown , could you possibly send me a spreadsheet with some dummy data using this function.

A quick Google brings up examples, such as the sample posted at Tech Support Guy.

    Here is an example.

I looked more closely at your data when I was creating the example, and this methodolgy may be flawed for your system. You have 2 different SiteIDs with the same Site Name and this is not possible if you want them to be autofilled.... (or is there a different UNIQUE item to lookup from?)
