Well, I was going to say that "you're missing something obvious... but then, I did too and that was <big>after</big> becoming a moderator[img]/w3timages/icons/blush.gif[/img]," but dang if the box isn't missing...

    Re: attaching files

No attachment box here - and I can't insert a [img]/w3timages/icons/crazy.gif[/img] tag (manually inserted) from the panel - get an 'Error on page'
    (IE5.5)

More on inserting tags - I'm only getting the problem when I go to preview - in the first window tags go in OK.

I can't attach anything either - although I'm sure there used to be a button for it...

    Re: attaching files

    Rory,

    Likewise.

The button was after "preview/attach post". I thought.

But Eileen could attach- I don't know why I could not.

Even when we could attach- pictures were shown with the post- but for txt files, you had to click on the "attachment" icon.

I'm sure Eileen didn't realise what a bunch of whingers we were when she took this job on. She gives us a top product, absolutely great, and an excellent job done by all- and we're just whinging about the most minor of the minor annoyances.

    Geoff,
I couldn't agree more - she gives us a Ferrari and we complain about the colour of the lights on the dashboard!
Still, I guess it's kind of a compliment that we expect perfection?
As to how she attaches files, I just figure her powers are beyond the comprehension of mere mortals such as I...[img]/w3timages/icons/grin.gif[/img]

    Re: attaching files

    Rory,

Yeah, I expect perfection too. I think the trouble is that Eileen has been far too obliging and granting us our every wish. In fact, she's probably the one who should be using the leprechaun userpic- a witch would never grant the wishes she does.

I hope that I've just missed something minor, and that I'll be able to attach txt files while banging my head for having missed something so simple.

I figure my userpic will turn into a Banshee if I wail TOO much...

I blew it up... pure and simple.

Seriously guys, I really do appreciate your persistance. How else would I know when stuff was broken, missing, highly desired or even hated?

I have been adding various requested bits and pieces and along the line, I lost the tags and the upload box on the Preview screen. *I* could see the upload box but everybody else, as you so vociferously noticed, was *banned*. That's fixed but I'm still puzzling over why the tags have gone awol...

    Re: attaching files

This is an old thread but I have a related question: is it intentional that a poster can only attach a file to an initial post? I have noticed that I can't add an attachment when replying.

    Re: attaching files

That should work now. Have you tried it since the fix?

    Re: attaching files

Considering this test ... no, there's no file attach/browse dialog at the bottom after I hit Preview/Attach.

Sounds as though you're pulling an old page out of your cache. You should be set to reload/refresh every time.
