    Unusual message (WXpHe MSO2003)

Turned on Outlokk this morning and wanted to take a speedtest to see if our connection to the net was stable. Yesterday I created a Note in Outlook and copied the url into it : http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk

To day I opended the Note, clicked on the hyperlink and received the following message: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on the computer. Please contact your system administrator. I am not aware of any restrictions being set up at all! Any help will be appreciated. Otherwise I'll go back a couple of days to a restore point?

Thanks you Hans, I have read the article now and implemented the fix for IE7. However that has not worked. Moreover this has only happened in the last 24hrs! Can't export or import the registry key from pc3 to pc2. Therefore would it be "best" to re-install office?

I would only reinstall Office as a last resort - it seems a bit drastic for this relatively minor (in my opinion) problem. You might try Help | Detect and Repair... from within Outlook though - you may have to insert your MS Office CD.

Thanks again, Hans, I'll try that.

    Re: Unusual message (WXpHe MSO2003)

JohnBF: thanks for that, however nothing has remedied the error message - includind an uninstall / re-install of office. Indeed I was most surprised to find that having re-installed office, the pst file was still being shown in the previous installation's location - also all of the email accounts too! Following on from this all of the passwards on the email accounts are required to be entered at each send and receive. Really weird. Now all I can consider is a re-install of windows! With a reformat of C: to get rid of unwanted errors. Any further suggestions please?
