    Access corrupted? (Access2003)

My boss had his Access corrupted.
He has it set Compact on closing.
Today when he opened - all tables which names started with R and greater are not accessible and all queries with re and greater are missing.
The error is 'Could not read definition. No read permission definition on tablename.

    Please, advice.

Are you sure that your boss hasn't been experimenting with Access security?

Do you make regular backups or perhaps even snapshots? If so, try to find the most recent non-corrupt backup or snapshot. If not, start making regular backups now.

What if he did experimented with security? Is it bad and not recoverable?

If he applied user-level security, he must have created a modified security workgroup file (.mdw) and set a password on the Admin user; you'd need the .mdw file and the password to get full access to the database again.
It's also possible that the database has indeed become corrupt; with this error message there's little chance of retrieving the inaccessible data, I fear.
