Calendar Synchronisation (2003 SP2)

Good morning

My boss has asked me a question that I cannot help with as I never use the calendar in Outlook. His problem is that when working from home he sets appointments with his Hotmail calendar and forwards them to the office for inclusion into his Outlook calendar. This works but the probllem is that no matter what time he sets on the Hotmail calendar it shows an hour before when synchronised with Outlook, for example 13:00 in Hotmail becomes 12:00 in Outlook. My first thought was that his system times were 1 hour different, GMT v BST, but he is adamant that this is not the case.

Any clues please

Perhaps one of the machines is set to use summer time (daylight saving time) and the other isn't?

That was my thought as mentioned in the original post, he has checked again and insists that both times are the same

I've searched Google and the newsgroups, but I can't find anything that would explain the difference, so I'm afraid I can't help.

A friend has suggested to me that sometimes you have to edit the Hotmail profile to ensure that automatic DST update is switched on, I have told my boss and will now wait and see

If your boss's level of PC knowedge is, shall we say, "not high", perhaps you can ask him to log onto Hotmail Calendaring from work, so he can "show you how it works", and then you can explore the setting options.
