    Decompressor needed (Word 2002 (XP))

Just received a file from a Mac. Several figures don't show up. Instead, their box contains a tiny warning: "Quicktime and TIFF decompressor needed".

Is there way to fix this without going back to the Mac?

    Thanks,
    -Alex

As far as I know, Word for Windows doesn't support QuickTime decompression, so I fear that you'll have to go back to the Mac and convert the pictures.

    Hi Hans,

Wow, that's a bummer. I even tried to re-install QuickTime but, of course, that did nothing.

Thanks for the reply all the same.

No, installing QuickTime won't help with this problem. You really need to convert the pictures to a format that Windows recognizes such as .png or .jpg.
