    Text to Excel (2K3)

There is probably an easy solution to this one but I can't think of it at the moment.

I have created a VB script that monitors disk usage on one of my servers prior to an upgrade and have outputted the data to a text file as comma seperated data. The fields are:

    Disk Name
    Size
    Date/Time (of snap shot)

This runs every 10 minutes and is appended to the text file. Some may feel that the updates are excessive but there are spikes in the drive footprint when SQL back ups are made or when there is an increase in transactions and the log sizes vary. This will allow me to calculate the disk variance.....sorry I digress <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

The powers that be now want this data graphed so that they can have a pretty picture to look at in meetings and instead of me having to manually import the file into Excel would like to format it once and when I open Excel it automatically updates. Any ideas?

If you use Access, you can easily create a link to the CSV file, then create a chart based on the linked table in a form or report. The chart will be updated automatically each time you open the form or report.
