    character formatting simplification (excel 2003 vb 6.3)

    Hello again. Not a problem, just a need for improvement.

    To format text in a title box, text box, etc, I see that you can specify start and length variables to format only the text you want. I've not seen this in help, but is there a way to format blocks of text without counting characters? I.e., it would be nice to put formatting controls right into the string as you define it, sort of like the old ibm script days. Thoughts?

    .ChartTitle.Select
    With Selection.Characters(Start:=69, Length:=100).Font
    .FontStyle = "Bold Italic"
    .Size = 8
    .ColorIndex = 3
    End With

    Nope, that doesn't work in Excel.
