    alerts (vp and outlook 2003)

Is there a way to set up outlook so that if I get an email from a specific sender - I can get a sound that tells me I need to read this immediately?

    Thanks

    Tom

Yes. In Outlook 2003, one of the Rules actions (Tools > Rules and Alerts) is to play a sound. You might want to use your own sound so it stands out from the other sounds Windows makes.

Select Tools | Rules and Alerts...
    Click 'New Rule...'
Select 'Start from a blank rule', make sure that 'Check messages when they arrive' is selected and click Next.
Tick the check box 'From people or distribution list'.
Click the link 'people or distribution list' in the lower pane.
Enter or select the sender, then click OK.
    Click Next.
    Select ' Play a sound'.
Click the 'play a sound' link in the lower pane.
Select a .wav file and click OK.
    Click Next.
Click Next unless you want to specify exceptions.
    Click Finish.
