    Re: Report Format (2003)

For example: I have a text box call "Name" on the report. If user enter "Woody's Lounge" in this text box, Woody's Lounge will show on the report. Now I would like to add quotation mark to this text box. No matter what user enter to this text box, it will show "Wooday's Lounge" on the report.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards

I don't understand. Users can't enter anything in text boxes on reports, you can only do that on a form. Does the report display a parameter prompt?

I am sorry for unclear information.

Yes, I have a form with Name text box. User will enter on the form and preview it from the report.

I just want to add the quotation mark to this text box, so it can be disappeared on the report.

    Thanks again.

"Name" is an unfortunate choice for the name of a field, because Name is also a property of a form, report etc. So do the following:
    - Open the table in design view.
    - Change the name of the field Name to something else, for example strName.
    - Save and close the table.
    - Open the form in design view.
    - Access may already have changed the Control Source of the Name text box. If not, set the Control Source to the new name of the field.
    - Save and close the form.
    - Open the report in design view.
    - Change the Control Source of the text box to

    =Chr(34) & [strName] & Chr(34)

    - Make sure that the name of the text box is different from strName.

Thank you so much, Hans. It works.
