    TABS (WORD 2000)

I am t;yping a document with several tabs. It is in outline form. When I set my tabs and margins and finish the first section and return the margins move to where the tabs are set. Please let me know what i need to do to correct this.

    Thanks

    Re: TABS (WORD 2000)

    Sonia,

Is it the margins that are moving, or the indentations on the text?

In the 'Edit' section of Tools > Options there is an option 'Tabs and backspace set left indent'. Is this checked?

You can see the position of your margins by viewing the document in 'Print Layout' view after ticking the 'Text boundaries' option (under 'Print and Web Layout options') in the 'View' section of Tools > Options. Paragraphs with an indent on them will set in from the dotted line representing the margin.

Does this go any way to helping you with your problem?
