Color Schemes WM6

I finally dumped my old Palm for a Verizon Motorola Q9c, with WM 6. Pretty happy with it, but the color schemes all have poor contrast to my old eyes, and I'd like to improve the schemes. I have found http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms839391.aspx, and looked around in http://www.everythingq.com, but they are all somewhat dense and I'm looking for more of a step-by-step on just the color schemes.

Any advice, tips and recommended programs to help with this?

I've been playing around with the Theme Generator but that doesn't really address the whole colour scheme thing.

I have my Home screen where I want it. I may mess around a bit to get some subsidiary screens adjusted, but I have what I need for now. I used http://www.madbeetle.com/HomeScreenBuilder.html version 2.7, to gain an understanding of how to edit and some of the options, but had problems with its results, so the final Homepage was built using Notepad and, since I don't know HTML well, a lot of iteration. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
