    XP Home

I recently did a destructive reformat on my wife's HP Computer. All went well, with a few hick ups, but nothing that was not able to be taken care of. All updates (SP3) were applied.
I upgraded her to Office 2003 and again all was good.
I took the computer back over to her, walked through the changes, (She's click happy) and within 48 hours she called to say that she couldn't open Outlook. I told her to try and open her browser and she said that she couldn't get that to open either. Application errors are what she was getting. I told her then to go to system restore. I created a restore point before I left it with her. Again she got an application error. I went over last night to take a look and tried to go into Safe Mode to do a system restore from there. NO DICE! I decided to do a "Soft" reformat using the recovery partition on the hard drive. I told her to watch it and do exactly what it said to do. She called and said that it was asking for NVMinSys32? Sounds like a .dll to me. I told her to stick in the CD that came with it and tried to direct her to the .dll's. She couldn't follow. Other than staring over does anyone have any ideas as to what my be going on?
PS I did search for that!........LOL both in here and on Microsoft but without seeing the actual dll that it is looking for...eh you get the picture.
    Thanks John

NV as a prefix usually means it is an Nvidia module of some sort. However, I could not find anything NVMinSys32. Are you sure that is correct? I'd guess that either she has somehow gotten the PC infected or you've got a hardware problem such as a power supply or disk drive about to go out.

    I know I shouldn't be teasing under dire circumstances such as you're facing, but I can't help myself. <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>
