    Generate Character List? (Word 2007)

Is there a way to "generate" a list of characters?
For instance I want to make 20 a's: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Is there a shorthand way to write this in MS Word? (ie a*20 or something?)

    John.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Word does not have a built-in feature for this (as far as I know).

Depending on your requirements it might or might not be worthwhile to spend time on developing some way to automate it.
    - What do you want to accomplish?
    - Do you need to do this often?
    - Will the character vary?
    - Will the number of characters vary?

Basically I am using a java library to replace text. So I need to "fill out" fields in a word document to be of a certain length. As that will be the maximum length of the field. However I rather a shorthand way of writing than putting 20 characters like that.

Do you want to fill the fields using code? Or do you want to fill them manually so that they are suitable for use by the Java library?
