    Conditional Formatting formula's (2002)

I am compiling a worksheet that I need to use repeated conditional formatting. My data is laid out starting at E4:F18. I then have date in H4:I18 which is compared against the previous dataset. Then K4:L18 is compared to the previous and so forth. I am guessing that I can use offset in the conditional formatting so that it can be continued onwards without the need to change, using the formatting paintbrush??

My required formatting is to fill colour red if this dataset is greater than the previous, and green for less than. Also fill grey if the dataset is blank. Hopefully the attached better explains........

No, you don't need OFFSET. Excel will handle it automatically.
    - Select H4:I18.
    - Select Format | Conditional Formatting...
    - Select Value Is, Equal to, =""
    - Click Format, activate the Pattern tab and select grey, then click OK.
    - Click Add.
    - Select Value Is, Greater than, =E4
    - Click Format, activate the Pattern tab and select red, then click OK.
    - Click Add.
    - Select Value Is, Less than, =E4
    - Click Format, activate the Pattern tab and select green, then click OK.
    - Click OK.
    - Select H4:J18.
    - Click the Format painter button.
    - Select K4:AE18 to "paint" the formatting.

    See attached version.
