using memos with other fields (2007)

Am using three different types of fields in an IIF statement., logical, text and memo. However, not all of the memo field displays. This is only part of the Select statement:

    IIF(logical_field,'text ' & text_field, memo_field) AS CombinedField.

The contents of the memo field displays completely by itself, but does not want to play nice with others. Any ideas would be great.
    Thanks

    Kim

Have you set a format on the field with the IIf statement? Or do you group on the IIf field? Memo fields are truncated to 255 characters in those situations.

I misspoke when I said that the memo field shows the contents when not in the IIF statement. And no, there is no formatting in either case.

Do you mean that if you simply add a memo field to a standard select query, it's truncated?

Yes, I did this: Select Comments From Members and ran it. Comments is a truncated memo field in the results.
    Thanks

That's strange, it shouldn't do that. Make sure that the "Unique Values" property of the query is set to No.

See Truncation of Memo fields on Allen Browne's website for more tips.

The query unique values property is set to No. There are only two fields, Lastname and comments. Still get the same results.
    Thanks

I'm afraid I don't know what causes your problem or how to solve it. Maybe someone who has Access 2007 (I don't) will have a suggestion.

    Hans,

All I have to do is to read the report/data/field correctly. It does what it is supposed to do. Thanks for the input.
    Thanks
