Parse data from one form to another (2003)

    Hi

I have a form called FrmIncompletes inside that is a Subform called FrmOUT0506Sub.

There is a field in the incompletes table called 'status' and a button on the first form 'FrmIncompletes' called 'CmbFollowup'

When I click the button, a it opens a form called 'frmFollowup' and displays 5 buttons. (Internal Incomplete, external, other etc etc)

When I click the button (for example 'internal incomplate' I want it to update the 'status' field of the last record in the subform 'FrmOut0506Sub'

    Many thanks
    Regards
    Gerbil (AKA Kevin)

I'm not exactly sure I follow all of this, but it seems like you need to open a recordset based on the recordsetclone of the subform. Something like this:

    dim rs AS DAO.recordset

    set rs = Forms!frmIncompletes!subfrmOUT0506sub.form.records etclone
    rs.movelast
    rs.edit
    ...do your updates here...
    rs.Update
    rs.close
    set rs = nothing

Re: Parse data from one form to another (2003)

I don't think thats quite what I need.

    OK I'll try again

FrmIncompletes has a subform called FrmOUT0506Sub and has a button on the parent form called 'cmbfollowup'
One of the fields in FrmOUT0506Sub is called 'Status' (This form is a datasheet)
When I click the button 'cmbfollowup' it opens a form called 'FrmFollowup' for me to select one of five options. (one of these options is called 'cmbinternalincomplete')
When I click on 'cmbInternalIncomplete' I want it to update the field 'Status' in the last record in the datasheet mentioned above, so that the current status gets changed to which ever button i clicked in 'FrmFollowup' (in this example that was 'cmbinternalincompletes'

I may be doing this the hard way. And am open to suggestions but basically if a user wants to update the record from say 'ordered' to 'completed' I want them to click one button get somekind of pop-up and select 'completed' or 'internal incomplete' etc etc from a list/buttons.

I gave you a method for updating the last record in the subform. That's what you asked for. How is this not what you need?
