Tools/Options (MS Office Word 2003 SP2)

In the Tools/Options/General the 'Recently used file list' is not editable.
How do I get it editable?

FYI...Some businesses will purposely disabled this feature in Word due to conflicts and incompatibility with Document Management Systems or other Word add-ins. They do this via an Office Policy file which can only be modified by designated people.
