control an standard Excel macro (NL / XL / 2003)

    Hello all,

I want to control some of the standard Excel macros.
e.g. If a user selects the option 'Insert Row' from the menu, I wouldt like to start a controlmacro first before the Insert Row macro of Excel starts, or in some situations to prevent the Excel macro from starting.
    (I hope I'm clear enough)

Thanks in advance foor your reaction.

Unlike Word, Excel has no way to intercept the built-in actions, and there is no "insert row" event that you can handle. See the thread starting at <post:=715,832>post 715,832</post:> for some suggestions.

You can create a class module that intercepts a click on a specific commandbar control.
See this article on how that works (includes a download): http://www.jkp-ads.com/Articles/CatchPaste.asp
