    Google Earth D/L page

In both FF2 and IE 7 I get Google Earth's download page with unlabeled buttons and neither of them does anything. Anyone else see this on the http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html page? Am I missing something, or having a stupid attack this morning?

Posted here because I suspect it's a GE problem.

OK here on FF2 and IE7 - you aren't blocking scripts, perchance?

    Interestingly, or maybe not...

I noticed you have a grey background to your agreement, and went in to try again.

After clicking your link, I see a very brief glimpse of the window I attached above, then it flips to a new view, asking for my location (see below).
If I select 'Other', I get to the screen I showed above.
If I select USA, or any other location, I go to yet another screen and the download starts automatically.
(Wherever I end up, I can't use my back button, so I suspect it is all done in script...)

If I open the page in Firefox 3 with NoScript, I initially see the same as you.
If I allow scripts on the page, the buttons are labeled (and I'm redirected to another page)

<P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by JohnBF on 24-Jul-08 09:38. )</P>OK, thanks, Leif and Hans. I may have scripts blocked and not know it. (I have some script stuff on FF, but not on IE that I know of.) Let me poke a stick into it and see what I find.

Edit: <img src=/S/hmmn.gif border=0 alt=hmmn width=15 height=15>, I'm not finding anything. I have the Netcraft Phishing Toolbar and Adblock in FF, but no installed script blocker. I disabled them both, but no change. Does AVAST have a script blocker? I disabled AVAST "Web Shield" service, but still no luck. Where else could I have something I haven't thought of?

Are Java and JavaScript enabled? (Content tab of Tools | Options in FF)

<P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by JohnBF on 25-Jul-08 08:21. )</P>Yes. Are they Java scripts? Maybe I have a munged Java install.

Edit: let me try Tony's advice in <post#=653,192>post 653,192</post#>.

    2nd Edit: that didn't help. <img src=/w3timages/censored.gif alt=censored border=0>!

3rd Edit: removed and reinstalled Java - no impact.

    Re: Google Earth D/L page

Just as a BTW, I tried this at home last night with cookies set to be accepted on a one by one basis. Each time I said NO (I think) but as the screen loaded step by step, I did get the same 'empty' buttons at one point. Not sure what this means, other than the buttons do seem to be being populated on the fly!

    Re: Google Earth D/L page

I still have not resolved the problem with whatever's blocking my scripts, and I found that the Bride's machine has the same problem. (Since I maintain both, they mostly have the same security products.)

However, I eventually got Google Earth updated, by getting GoogleUpdater from another machine, having it lock up on me, uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and finally getting GE. It was a life and death struggle, I swear. (OK, at the time I swore. A lot.)

This thread probably belongs in Other Browsers.
