Wallpaper Folder Search Sequence (XP SP2)

I recently had to flatten and reload my PC. Got it back to Windows XP SP2, which is what it was at before the flatten. But now when I go to Desktop wallpapers (right-clicking on a blank spot on the desktop and selecting Properties) it shows all the wallpapers from C:WindowsWebWallpaper AND also from my Cocuments and SettingsOwner...My Pictures folder as well. Before I flattened and reloaded it just read from my C:WindowsWebWallpaper.
So clearly there is some sort of path variable or setting that is telling Windows XP to look multiple places.
Anyone know what and where that is and how to change it?
I never knowingly changed anything like that before the flatten and don't understand how it changed since factory default (which is where it's at now) is clearly different from what it was before I flattened it.
I could move my pictures around to different folders but I would rather know how to change the folder search path.

The default wallpaper folder is specified in the registry, in the WallPaperDir entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersion. You could take a look at that entry to see if it has changed from its default value %SystemRoot%WebWallpaper

You'll have to excuse me but I don't understand what you mean by "flatten"?

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
Today it is called golf!

I think he means re-formatting the hard disk.

That's what I THOUGHT it may be but then again thought it was a unique geographical type of term.
Kind of like the difference between a train and a tram or an elevator and and a lift.

It could mean something else, of course ...

Yes, as Hansv surmised, flatten is lingo for reformatting the hard drive. Essentially Flatten and reload performed in that order result in a System Recovery. This is opposed to a System Restore which simply reloads the System software to a fixed point in the past.

I thought this slang term was more or less universal, but perhaps this slang term is regional in nature or more limited than I had believed.

Must be a "Bothell" thing as I have never heard the term used in this manner. I do NOT think that I have even ever heard the term at Redmond as many times that I have been there

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
