    Add-Ons (7.0.5730.13)

I have a program listed in IE Add-Ons that has been disabled. I'd like to remove it permanently because the programs been removed. I searched hard drive and the Registry and it's not listed.

How do you remove a program from that list?

I assume it is on one of the lists where the Delete button is not enabled.

Depending on how it was installed, it might have created an entry in Add/Remove programs.

If that doesn't work, you could try using Microsoft/SysInternals' AutoRuns to track down its location. I think it has a tab for IE Add-ons.

The Delete button's not there, only Enable & Disable are options. It's also not listed in Add/Remove because the programs been removed. For your information, the Add On's name is Spybot Search & Destroy. I'm surprised to see that it was added to the list, when it was a downloaded/installed program.

Auto Runs performs almost the same function as a program I use now "Win Patrol." but it doesn't have a Add On tab. Therefore I will try the program you have suggested.

    Thanks for your swift response.

This is an update to the running of Auto Runs. I installed it and checked every tab including the one name ALL, and S&D isn't listed anywhere.

What's next on your To Do list for me?

Reinstall and uninstall the program again and hope it cleans up after itself better this time. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

You got it, it will be reinstalled today. I will post back with the information about if has removed itself from IE7's Add On list.

    Good suggestion, thanks.

    Re: Add-Ons (7.0.5730.13)

I did as you suggested and installed and uninstalled S&D. I searched the registry to make sure that there was nothing left, none were found. I even did a registry check for Tea Timer and came up empty. Then I went back to IE > Tools > Manage Add-Ons > Enable or Disable Add-Ons and S&D wasn't listed, in fact Disabled wasn't even there.

S&D no longer exists on my computer. Thanks again for the suggestion.
