    non consecutive summary (2000 SP3)

    Hi,

    In Sheet1 I have loads of columns.

    In sheet 2 I'd like to summarise each 4th column in Sheet 1 i.e.:

    sheet2!a1= sheet1!A20
    sheet2!b1= sheet1!E20
    sheet2!c1= sheet1!I20
    sheet2!d1= sheet1!M20

    Is there any way I can click & drag on Sheet 1 so that Excel fills in every 4th column (instead of consecutive columns?

    Thanks
    Jim

    PS I tried searchinng for this but couldn't think of how to phrase the search.

    Re: non consecutive summary (2000 SP3)

    You could enter the following formula in A1 on Sheet2:

    =OFFSET(Sheet1!$A$20,0,(COLUMN()-1)*4)

    and fill to the right. Or use this formula:

    =INDEX(Sheet1!20:20,4*COLUMN()-3)
