SP3 Update Failure (XP Pro)

I have tried several times to update to SP 3 and each time, after at least an hour, I get an error message that it cannot load beethov9.wav and the only choice is to cancel the upgrade. Is there a way around this problem.

This is a Dell Inspiron 8500 that has not been used for some time.

From SP3 setup error on TechArena:

When the "beethov9.wma error" comes up (about 1 1/4 hrs. into the update), open Windows Explorer and go to Cocuments and SettingsAll UsersDocuments, then right-click on Documents and bring up Properties, then the Sharing tab. Check the box "Allow Network Users to Change My Files". You don't have to be logged in as admin. Retry the copy.

Thank you for responding so quickly. Unfortunately I do not seem to have access to that folder even though I am logged in as the Administrator and I have access to the other folders under "All Users"

You need to "take ownership" of that folder. Take a look here for instructions on how to do this.

Thank you - that solved the problem.

I do not know which is more outrages: the fact that an unavailable music clip (even for a great piece of music) would stop a major Service Pack upgrade cold after running for over an hour or the fact that the system administrator does not have access rights to a folder.
