Windows Update Error 0x80072EE2 (XP Home SP2)

    Hi Everyone,

Since Woody says it's OK, I attempted to download the latest updates and received this error. They suggested adding three MS sites to the Trusted Sites and unchecking the box beside "Require server verification. . .". I did so and was then able to download all updates without error messages, although it warned me about accessing a trusted site (see attachment).

Going forward, is it safe to leave these three as "trusted sites"? And is it safe to leave the box unchecked? Thanks!

There's no objection to leaving those sites in your Trusted Sites list.
And as long as you manage Trusted Sites yourself, there's no problem leaving the "Require server verification" check box clear.
