Microsoft Photo Editor (2002)

Hi,
I have MS Office XP Standard suite installed on both my old XP machine and new Vista laptop. On the old, under 'Microsoft Office tools', i have Microsoft photo editor, but this does not appear on the Vista machine. Any idea's? I did a full install, including the content cd.
Thanks

I'm finding contradictory information on other websites - some state that Photo Editor doesn't work under Windows Vista, others that it does.

There are several free image editors with more features than Photo Editor, for example IrfanView and FastStone Image Viewer.

Re: Microsoft Photo Editor (2002)

My gut instinct was that it was a Vista compatability issue. I have'nt really explored Vista's functionality as yet, but i have a feeling that it may have other similar features built in.

If my memory serves me correctly, I think it was a post by Jezza that got me into using MS Photo Editor, for my basic needs. I have no experience of other such products, although I have seen IrvanView mentioned a lot in the lounge, so will take a look at that. Thanks

Edited to add:

Apologies, it was Leif, in starpost <!post=A Guide to attatching Screenshots,270762>A Guide to attatching Screenshots<!/post> . We can't blame Jezza for everything!

Also, check out Paint.NET - Free Software for Digital Photo Editing. It is a very good program.
