    document attributes (word 2000)

i just discovered all my word documents (several hundred) have the attribute set to "read only"; have no idea how this occurred. Is there any way to reset everything to "archive" without doing them one-by-each?

In explorer, highlight all the files. Right click on the selected group, and select "Properties". Clear the "Read only" attribute.

even better solution: using DOS "attrib -r /s" does it all in one pass; the problem with the first solution is that it goes one folder at a time AND that a whole lot of temp "fffe" files are created & left open, slowing Win to a crawl, requiring reboots
