    too many records (access 2007)

Query qryVisits runs Table Visits which has 14 records and the query comes up with 62,500 records. I must have inadvertantly changed something to cause this but I can't figure out what I did . Can you help.

You have included 6 copies of tblPainLevel in the query when you don't need it at all.

The top half of the query grid, which you have shrunk so you can't see it, shows the tables you are selecting from in the query.
To open it up, hold the mouse pointer over the thick line immediately below qryvisits in the query grid. Drag when you have a double ended arrow. You will see this:

    JH,
Thanks a bunch. I don't know how those tables got there, but they are now gone and the query works great.
    Thanks again.
