    Adobe Acrobat error message

    Hello all,

I just tried installing Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 on Vista and I got the attached error message. I clicked "ok" and completed installation. Then I went to print one of my Word documents to a PDF, but I Adobe was not even showing up as one of my printers. I assume it is because of the error message.

Does anyone know what this problem is and how to fix it? Is it Vista related?

I am considering abandoning this operation and just downloading a free PDF writer. Does anyone have any recommendations of a PDF writer that is VISTA COMPATIBLE (preferably freeware)?

    Regards,

    JMT

I use Bull Zip pdf writer. It is free and Vista compatible.

Acrobat 6 does not support Vista apparently - see for example this discussion .

    Re: Adobe Acrobat error message

    Dear John,

I tried downloading version 5, but I kept on getting the message "Windows cannot open the folder. The compressed (zipped) folder (direction of the temp folder where it was saved) is invalid.

I instead downloaded version 6 (beta). Do you have any experience with it? Would you recommend it or is it unstable?

    Regards,

    Re: Adobe Acrobat error message

Sorry I have no experience of V6.

But I did just download and install V5 on another Vista computer without problems.

When I clicked the link I chose to Save rather than Open. I then opened the zip file after the download was complete.
    Regards
    John

    Re: Adobe Acrobat error message

I tried doing that as well, but got the same message upon opening it. In any event, I downloaded version 6 and it seems to be working fine.
