    Create a macro in Word to show save progress (MS Word 2003 sp2)

    What is that code for a macro that will display the save progress in the status bar - or display a message?
    and is there a way to run this macro when you click the save button?

    Regards

    You can't control the progress indicator that Word sometimes displays. See <post:=416,629>post 416,629</post:> for alternatives; you won't be able to use them for the Save operation.

    Hi Lynden,

    If all you're after is some code to ensure the std save progress bar is displayed during a save, you could use code like:

    Dim SBar As Boolean ' Status Bar flag
    ' Store current Status Bar status, then switch on
    SBar = Application.DisplayStatusBar
    Application.DisplayStatusBar = True
    'Put your code to save the file here
    ' Restore original Status Bar status
    Application.DisplayStatusBar = SBar
    Cheers,
