xp service pack 3 (sp 3)

I haven't installed service pack 3 yet. I just got back into town and wanted to get some feedback. Is it okay to install it now. I know there were problems when it first came out.

    Thanks,

    Mike

(Edited by DaveA on 08-Aug-08 15:31. Added note about backing up)
If it is listed when you go to Windows Update, Yes, install it.
If it is NOT listed, then you need to contact the OEM of your machine and find out what drivers are missing for the machine so Vista can be installed.

Note: Make sure that you do a GOOD back up of your data, a "Image" would be better before you do the SP3 install.

I have installed it at home and on multiple PCs at work without any problems.
As with any major upgrade, make a backup before installing, just in case there's a glitch.

Note: our Windows moderator JoePerez has recommended downloading the full install from Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers. You can burn this to a CD for later reuse.

    It's XP, Dave, not Vista...
