    Woody's references

I am hoping some Lounger can clue me in on Woody's use of "MS08-" references in his daily items, whereas when I run a Windows Update, I get a list of items that use a "KB..." numbering system. How am I to associate Woody's references to Microsoft's references? Surely, folks like me are not expected to go to a Microsoft site and look up each MS08 reference to get its corresponding KB reference, are we?

    Re: Woody's references

The first line in Woody's article about this month's updates contains a link (not very noticeable, the word "details" is clickable) to The Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) : August 2008 Monthly Bulletin Release. This bulletin contains a list of the MS08-.... numbers and the corresponding KB numbers - see screenshot.
