Using Between expression (Access 2000 SP3)

Hi I'm trying to use 1 value on a table to return another value on a table that is identified by value 1 being between a start number and end number. For example I have a 5 on table A and I have the start number 1 and end number 8 on table B with a value of B234 to the right of those numbers. What I want is the number B234. Can someone help me? I've joined the two tables now I need to know what my query should look like. Thanks.

Re: Using Between expression (Access 2000 SP3)

Create a query based on the two tables. Do not draw a join line between the two tables.
Let's say that they are named TableA and TableB, and that the fields involved are FieldA from TableA, and StartNumber, EndNumber and LookupField from TableB.
Add FieldA and LookupField to the query grid.
Enter the following expression in the Criteria line for FieldA:

    Between <!t>[TableB].[StartNumber] And <!t>[TableB].[EndNumber]

Depending on the values in the tables, more than one value of LookupField might be returned for the same value of FieldA.
