    Change a ComboBox (2003 SP2)

    Good morning

I have a cell that contains this formula

    IF(ISERROR(INDEX(C18207,B9,D9)+(B13-1)*INDEX(E18:E207,B9)),"On Request",INDEX(C18207,B9,D9)+(B13-1)*INDEX(E18:E207,B9))

I have a comboBox linked to cell B9 and it returns the result fine, I would like however to change it to a ComboBox from the control toolbar for ease of entry (type in an s and it shows the first of the s entrys etc.)

I have tried it and linked it to B9 but the formula does not seem to work anymore.

    Any advice please

    Cheers

    Re: Change a ComboBox (2003 SP2)

The linked cell acts differently for a combo box from the Forms toolbar and from the Control Toolbox.

For a combo box from the Forms toolbar, the linked cell contains the index of the selected item, i.e. 1 if the first item is selected, 2 if the second item is selected, etc.
For a combo box from the Control Toolbox, the linked cell contains the text of the selected item.

You'll have to adjust the formula to take this into account. If you would like help with that, please attach (a stripped down copy of) the workbook.

    Hi Hans

Thanks for the offer to take a look. I tried to amend the formula to a VLOOKUP and used the ,False arguement but I can't seem to fathom it. Anyway I have attached the workbook if you could take a look when you have a minute

Does this do what you want?

    =IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(G6,B18:E207,D9+1,FALSE)+(B13-1)*VLOOKUP(G6,B18:E207,4)),"On Request",VLOOKUP(G6,B18:E207,D9+1,FALSE)+(B13-1)*VLOOKUP(G6,B18:E207,4))
