Using a templete to export into (2003)

    Hi all,

I would like to know if it is possible to export data from a form into an excel template. I currenly use a form to select my criteria then click email to export the data as .xls, But the layout is not what I would like it to be.

Also when you output to email from access it defaults to my primary email account in outlook, is there a way of it using my IMAP address instead also in outlook.

    Many thanks
    Kevin

The answer to both questions is that you'd need to use Automation - for the first one to control Excel from Access to format the data the way you want, for the second one to control Outlook from Access to send the way you want. This requires you to have a good working knowledge of Access VBA, Excel VBA and Outlook VBA.

See our moderator WendellB’s tutorial Automation 101 for an introduction to Automation with useful links to more detailed information.
