Old Word Docs (2003 and Word 6)

I am running Word 2003 on a Vista machine. When I try to access some of my older files (vintage 1992 etc), I get a message saying something to the effect "You are attempting to open a file that was created in an earlier version of Microsoft Office. This file type is blocked from opening in this version by your registry policy setting." I would like to be able to access my older Word files in Word. Is there some setting that I can adjust to do this. Thank you.

See MSKB article Information about certain file types that are blocked after you install Office 2003 Service Pack 3 for an explanation of this behavior, and information about how to undo it. You can either download and open a .reg file to unblock Word documents, or you can edit the Windows Registry.
