Connecting two monitors to a desktop computer

    Hi,

I'd like to connect two monitors to a desktop computer, so that my viewing real estate is doubled, i.e., a long spreadsheet can be seen half on one screen and half on the other. Unfortunately, the video card I have only has one "port" for the blue cable that each of the monitors have.

Any idea what piece of hardware--short of a new video card--which I need to get to remedy this?

    Thanks.

    Hi Jon

You can also start by looking a dual head graphics card - Google Search

I have provided a link as there are quite a few on the market. Many moons ago I used a Matrox Dual Card which did a great job when I did web work and the idea was "stolen" by another user who did a lot of finance work in Excel

Thanks Al! Since my video card has one VGA and DVI port, I've connected one monitor through each port. (DVI, BTW, is clearly superior to VGA.)

Has anyone heard of a way to connect a 2nd monitor wirelessly?

I'd like to put a 2nd monitor on my dining table, which is about 20 feet from my computer w/o having a long cable running across the floor.
