Spelling & Grammar Woes (PowerPoint 2003)

I am having an issue with text in my slides. I inherited a slide-show that was in French. After translating into english, any words that are misspelled for the french language are underlined by spell check. Is there anyway to convert the Spelling & Grammar to the correct english context? Thanks!

Assuming PP2003 is set up the same as PP2000..

Go to Tools / Language... Select English and click the Default... button.

I'm pretty sure that changing the default won't change the language for existing text. There is an example of vba code to do this in simple cases here. The Add In for more complex stuff is free to try and fully functional and will do a better job.

According to the dialog box that appears, the current and future presentations will be affected.

Unfortunately I do not have a second dictionary installed in order to test.

If you change the DEFAULT language for current and future presentations, this will affect all NEW slides, but it won't change the language for text that has already been added to existing slides.
