Breaking MailMerge link (2003)
An IT system contains a database and an associated mailmerge document. The document is, of course, linked to the database.
The system user wants to send this document to someone else as an example mailmerge document (it's an example of a contract). However, when the doc is opened in Word, it contains details of the last mail merge run; this is unacceptable as it is personal data which must not be sent to the third party.
What has to be done to make the document just a word document containing merge fields not residual data ie how can the link be broken?

Re: Breaking MailMerge link (2003)
Open the mail merge document.
Activate the Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11).
Activate the Immediate window (Ctrl+G).
Type the following line, then press Enter:
ActiveDocument.MailMerge.MainDocumentType = wdNotAMergeDocument
Switch back to Word and save the document.
The user will have to start the Mail Merge Wizard from scratch.
