    TROJ_VUNDO.JHZ

My antivirus software is telling me that I have this virus attached to a system file in System 32_c0093d90.dat.

It suggests that I delete this file manually but when I try, the message reads that it cannot delete because it is being used by another application. I closed all other programs but it did not work.

Does anyone know what to do?

    Thanks.

You could try the Unlocker utility to find out which program/process is using the file. See http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ and discussion on the Software board.

Another Lounger recently reported that Spyware Doctor was able to remove a variant of the vundo Trojan - see <post:=728,925>post 728,925</post:>.

Hans, do you know if I can reinstall Spyware Doctor? Kaspersky Anit-Virus insisted that I remove it before it would continue with the installation. Do you think I can sneak it back on without causing problems with the AV software?

I don't know, I don't have Kaspersky. But do you need Spyware Doctor now? Have you been infected with the Vundo Trojan?

No Hans, I am not infected with anything. I just paid for the program before I installed Kaspershy and I hated losing good money. I value Kaspersky more so I complied.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus protects against spyware too, and it has a very good reputation, so I'd stick with it.

Didn't you just post that your subscription to Spyware Doctor expires in September and that since Symantec has purchased PCTools (the company behind Spyware Doctor) you were not going to renew your subscription ???

    Re: TROJ_VUNDO.JHZ

I've had several AV programs and removed all of them, for one reason or another. I researched KAV throughly before I purchased and installed it, that's the reason I conceded to it's demands that I remove Spyware Doctor.

    Respectfully yours,
    Gloria

You caught me, Doc. I did say that and not to long ago either. I forgot just that quickly, consider my question about reinstalling SD mute and forgotten. If it was the same program it was before the purchase by Symantec, I might not have given up without a fight. I know serious changes will be made, so SD is just good money spent that has gone bad.
