    Display e-mail notifications (Access 2007)

Subject edited by HansV - "MS Access" wasn't very descriptive

Is it possible to write some vba code inside a ms access application, that alerts the user when a email is received

Outlook has various options to notify the user of incoming e-mails, so why use Access for this?

Re: Display e-mail notifications (Access 2007)

I ask this question because in my Access program i can send from my laptop a email with attachment to the office and want to be sure that the email arrived there succesfully.
The email has a attachment that consist of a ms Access database holding one table with booked orders of clients. This all happens without leaving the Access program.
My Access program at the office can retrieve this table out of the attachment and automaticaly use the data in this table to add orders to the order and orderdetail tables in the database.
As there are statement in MS Access to define the email address, the recipient and so on, maybe there excist a statement that makes that the receiver automatically send a message back, telling the good receive of the email.

I assume that you create an object of type Outlook.MailItem in your code.
If you set the OriginatorDeliveryReportRequested property of this object to True, the sender wil receive a notification when the e-mail has been delivered.
If you set the ReadReceiptRequested property of this object to True, the sender wil receive a notification when the e-mail has been read by the recipient.
