Downloaded Program Files (XP SP2 Build 2600)

I'm trying to find the folder for the above subject. There's an ActiveX program I want to remove, a program that's been removed called Driver Agent..

I've searched Google and found KB 174925 and KB 154850 but nothing to help me find a folder that I used to see using Windows XP.

If it's no longer available, please tell me how to remove and ActiveX program. Either method will do.

Try Internet Options, Programs Tab, the Manage add-ons button.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

The location is C:WindowsDownloaded Program Files.

You may be able to use IE to uninstall the control by using Manage Add-ons. Make sure you display ALL add-ons rather than just loaded add-ons.

I found the Manage add-ons button, but the delete ActiveX button was grayed out. I could either Enable or Disable. I looked at Add-ons that have been used by IE > Downloaded ActiveX controls -(32-bit). There the delete button was available, but the program I was looking for wasn't there.

I did find the Downloaded Program Files folder at C:Windows. It contained the file I was trying to remove "Driver Agent ActiveX Control > Installed which I deleted. Problem solved.

Driver Agent Active X Control was found in Downloaded Program Files and I removed it from there. The program wasn't listed in Manage Add-ons in any of the drop-down lists.

Joe, answer a question for me please. Is it safe to remove all items in the DPF follder? I read somewhere awhile ago that it was ok. I'm double checking to be sure.

I'd recommend that you not remove anything unless know for sure you aren't using it. There are controls & dlls in that folder whose purpose may not be readily apparent from the name.

I accept your recommendation because everything listed, I currently use.

    Thanks Joe.
