Where are my programs? (XP Pro Sp3)

I have no clue as to what happened here or why.
But all of my recently used programs have disappeared.
Ideas anyone on how to get them back?
I looked at Tweak UI and all is Ok in there

System Restore would be my first thought.

Is there a chance that you "accidently" removed them or cleared the list? (see attached). What happens if you run a few programs at random and then come back and check the list? Will it have started a re-building process? Never had this question before.

I always keep that setting at zero and just pin the programs I use most to the Start menu, but felt that "accidentally" clearing or changing that setting would be pretty tough unless you did something to clear all your history and I'm not sure what would clear that menu along with the history. But your suggestion to start using a few programs sounds like a less drastic move. A reboot might also set things right.

Al,
Nope, that was the first thing that I looked at. If I start a new program, it doesn't show up either

Doc, That was what I was thinking I would try next after I see what you folks had to say.
Thanks John

Doc may be right and a system restore be in order, but I might try one more thing first. Try switching to the Classic menu first and then back again to see if that might "goose" it a little. I did look at Kelly's to see if she has anything about it, but I came close but no cigar.

There are a few suggestions HERE to first go to START>RUN and type regsvr32 / i shell.dll

IF not there are a few registry locations to check, also at that site.

Al and Bob,
I did a system restore, and all is back to normal. Now I just have to figure out the why. But as they say. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" So will probably just let well enough alone.
thanks for the suggestions
