Making info move t.o a specified place (Office 2003)

    Hi All,

Im not very good on MS word as you wil probably find out from reading this.

I have previously used a form at work and would like to design my own.

The top half of the form is where all the information was put in. It was like a question and answer sort of thing. It had the question and the only place on the whole document where you could type was the little gray boxes. After answring 10 or so questions, the information which had been put in the answer spaces all moved down to a passage at the bottom where some of my answers had been pulled to.

Any ideas how to this sort of thing?

Any help is better than what ive currently got (nothing!!!!)

    Thanks in advance!

Have a look at <post:=691,982>post 691,982</post:>, and at the document it describes which is attached to <post:=401,715>post 401,715</post:>

Try the attached. It simply uses REF fields to copy data from the form fields into the narrative. Use Tools>Unprotect (or the lock icon on the Forms toolbar) and toggle the display of field codes using Alt+F9 to see what I mean. Note that I renamed your form fields to match your parentheticals.

To populate the REF fields, I use print preview. If you want to populate them sooner or more automatically, you can attach macros (VBA procedures) to your form fields.

    Wow...it worked!

    Thanks for this!

Can i ask 2 more things? you mention macros to make it populate faster...ideally i would like it to populate as soon as I tab to the next field.

Also...with protection on you cannot highlight and copy the bottom paragraph...which is the end result of what i need to do???

    I made the following changes:

Unprotect the document

Add a continuous section break just before the paragraph at the end of the document

Change the properties of all the form fields to set the "Calculate on exit" check box

Turned on the protection again, but set to protect Section 1 only[/list]Does this do what you want?
